Small steps again towards handover.

Day 197 - With only a few more weeks to go towards some sort of handover, there has been a few small steps toward this milestone. Still no word on the bench tops, only that they have been talking to a few suppliers.
Roof space insulation was fully completed after a few complaints about the gaps identified at the last inspection.
The garage doors now installed, looking much better with some doors in place.

Still no retaining wall started yet - the engineers report is in, sketches for Dean to get started - but No Dean to be found.

More on the weekend, Pic's of our new 3kW PV Panels and Inverter, just too wet to get some proper pics.

All signed off and submitted just before the Sept 30th Vic Government deadline for the PFIT rate of 60c/kWh.

Oh No !! Disastrous news on the Benchtop's

Day 189 -  Not good, we had our regular site meeting this morning - SS told us that the company doing our stone bench tops has gone into liquidation - with just weeks to go - not what we wanted to hear !!

Ashford homes now need to recover and find another supplier and quickly...

Day 185 - The new floor tiles (white) with silver grey grout looks great. All the floor area now completed. Our bathroom Black tiles in the showers is a fantastic contrast to the white.

 We are told the stone bench tops are to be installed this week...cannot wait.!!

The house insulation has been mostly installed, only a few patches to complete now, this should keep us cosy inside during the colder months and summer heat.

The list of items to complete is getting smaller as we approach the handover point. I am still amused that the retaining wall guy is still not there to complete the wall down the west side of the property. Time is running out.

The Tiler's have floor'd me so far.

Day 179 - The Tilers have been busy since Thursday, most of the floor tiles now laid - some 120sq m of area.                                          

I spotted 3 of them there doing their thing.       - looks good so far !!

 Still no sign of the retaining wall guy, looks like we have scared him off.....better start this week to get
 it finished by our handover target date 28/9 - have not see the design for the corner post arrangement.

The electrical fit off now completed - a close inspection of the switchboard - a few c/breakers need to be changed to increased size to allow for the appliances we are fitting - the main isolation c/b is also under rated for the house total load..

Electrial happenings at last

Day 174 -  The challenge is set, handover by 28/9 ? is this possible you say.  We have asked Ashford homes to get the house ready for handover by this date so we can install the PV panels to get in before the Vic government deadline of 30/9 for the premium feed-in tariff closure. Lets see if they rise to the challenge.

Painter has been and finished all of the internals, only the garage to go with the final coat.  Some patching to do here and there and some areas where some touch up is required. We are still to get to the bottom of the sealer issue - more on this in future blogs - I feel a paint inspection is due.

Electrical also stated in on Monday, looking good so far.

Still no retaining wall yet - there is a design for the rear section underway where the two walls join - hope to see this during this week.
